Terms of Service
Last updated: March 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using ScreenshotAPI (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
ScreenshotAPI provides an API service to capture website screenshots and generate PDFs programmatically. The Service includes a free tier and paid subscription plans with varying usage limits.
3. User Accounts
You must create an account to obtain API keys. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your API keys and account credentials. You are responsible for all API usage under your account.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to capture screenshots of illegal content
- Attempt to bypass rate limits or usage quotas
- Use the Service for any form of unauthorized surveillance
- Share your API keys with unauthorized parties
- Attempt to access internal networks or private resources through the API
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or scrape the Service
5. API Usage and Rate Limits
Each plan has defined monthly screenshot limits. Exceeding your plan limits will result in API requests being rejected until the next billing cycle. Rate limits of 30 requests per minute apply to screenshot endpoints.
6. Payment and Subscriptions
Paid subscriptions are billed monthly. You can cancel at any time, and your access will continue until the end of the current billing period. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades apply at the next billing cycle.
7. Data and Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Screenshots are generated on-demand and not stored. We do not sell or share your data with third parties.
8. Service Availability
We strive for high availability but do not guarantee 100% uptime. Business plan subscribers receive SLA guarantees as described on the pricing page. We reserve the right to perform maintenance with reasonable notice.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that screenshots will perfectly represent the target website in all cases, as rendering depends on website content, JavaScript execution, and network conditions.
10. Limitation of Liability
ScreenshotAPI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
